A Home of Hope for Tanzania’s Orphans

Humanitarian Social Innovations is proud to introduce a new member of our community of social entrepreneurs: Hope Family Ministry.
The Purpose and Plan for an Orphanage

Hope Family Ministry logoHope Family Ministry was founded by Emmanuel (Emma) Kadinda Wapi. The program will build an orphanage for children forced to live on the streets of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This place will be a home and family for children who have been living on the streets with no parents. While living in the Home of Hope, children will learn to live a successful life through good behavior and a positive work ethic.

In addition to providing a home and nutrition, the orphanage will offer programs to help the children develop into self-actualized adults.

A health program will cover the children’s physical health care and ensure they can receive treatment at any hospital, while a psychological program will teach the children to cope with psychological challenges both past and present. The education program will cover education costs, as well as additional tutoring and transportation. Lastly, there is a spiritual program, which will develop the spiritual well-being of the children. In addition to these programs, the children will also develop a work ethic and have opportunities for recreation.

Emma Wapi

Emma Kadinda Wapi was born in Tanzania. He acquired a Bachelor’s in Human Resource Management at Tumaini University. People recognized his leadership and spiritual maturity as early as high school. He started this program due to the poor life, health, and educational opportunity that orphans face in Dar es Salaam, and he wishes to create a bright future for those children.

The Hope Family Home will rest on several hectares and will include two dormitories for boys and girls, a dining hall, kitchen, chapel, and a dispensary. The site will also include residential housing and an administrative building for staff.

HSI is proud to have Emma and the Hope Family Ministry join our community of social entrepreneurs and is looking forward to serving them as they impact humanity.

Your financial gift has a great impact when used in the Tanzanian economy.

Your recurring gift of $54 per month for a year will buy an acre of land on which to build or expand the orphanage.

A small one-time gift of $35 provides an entire dump truck load of sand or gravel for making the cement needed for building construction!
