Sacred Nation Rises Organizes Honor the Tribes Initiative: Moccasins Across America Walk 2025
On May 3, 2025, a transformative walk will begin, spanning 3,000 miles from coast to coast over a period of six months. The Honor the Tribes Initiative: Moccasins Across America Walk, coordinated by Sacred Nation Rises, aims to bring individuals together and promote reconciliation, healing and unity among Native American communities and the American public.Â
The Walk will begin on San Pasqual Land in California and move eastward, ultimately coming to an end in the White House’s Rose Garden in October. Founder Terri Clah expects to lead a core team of about 40 walkers, with additional participants anticipated to join along the way. Heavenly Host, LLC, which is based in the Lehigh Valley, is supporting Clah by managing strategic planning, PR efforts, marketing, development, fundraising and national implementation of the Walk.
“We are doing this Walk in order to bring forgiveness, reconciliation, love, unity and restoration, so we may all live in peace in America,” Clah said. According to statements made by Sacred Nation Rises, “The goal is providing a platform to Native voice [sic] by partnering with local ministerial leaders who will educate, inspire and challenge souls with life changing messages. This movement seeks to mend the fabric of our nation through collective prayer, evangelism, and shared purpose.”
Clah and her partners are raising funds from individual donations, corporate sponsorships, grants and in-kind donations, hoping to raise enough money to cover the walk’s expenses, plus invest in future projects. While the Walk is the organization’s primary focus this year, it eventually plans to implement initiatives to support various areas of need: family healing; public health, wellness and safety; food; housing; education; and more.
