We’re excited to announce a special virtual lunch and learn session led by Yasmin Vafa, an award-winning human rights lawyer and Executive Director of Rights4Girls. Mark your calendars for this informative session on September 18th, from 12 PM to 1 PM.

About Yasmin Vafa: Yasmin Vafa is an award-winning human rights lawyer and Executive Director of Rights4Girls, a national organization dedicated to ending gender-based violence in the US. Yasmin has successfully advocated for several laws at the federal and state levels, testified before the US Senate, state legislatures, and international governing institutions, and co-authored multiple reports detailing the overcriminalization of girls, especially, survivors of sexual violence. Yasmin and her work have been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, National Public Radio, ABC News, and more. She currently serves on the US Advisory Committee on the Sex Trafficking of Children and Youth, is judicial faculty for the National Judicial Institute on Child Sex Trafficking, and is founding co-chair of World Without Exploitation, the nation’s largest anti-trafficking coalition of over 220 organizations working together to end human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

Topics to Be Covered:

  • Criminalized Survivors: Exploring the pathways that lead from abuse to incarceration.
  • Legislative Reforms: Identifying critical policy changes needed to dismantle the abuse to prison pipeline.

Registration Details: The cost of this training is $5, and all proceeds will go into our Survivor Fund, which provides exit services and support for survivors.
